GOOD TO KNOW
Getting a small, sharp GIF
- Keep it short. GIFs balloon in size fast. Two to five seconds is the sweet spot; the limit here is 15 seconds.
- Match the width to where it will be used. 320 px is fine for chat and most posts; 640 px is for when detail matters. The height follows automatically, so vertical clips stay vertical.
- Lower FPS for a smaller file. 10 fps looks fine for most clips; 20 fps is smoother but two to three times larger. GIFs have no sound.
